About AMWA UConn Chapter

While specifically aiming for more female physicians to matriculate into medical school, AMWA UConn Chapter helps with course recommendations, the application process, and overall, forming a group who are experiencing, or experienced, a similar track. Membership is open to all UConn students (of any gender) who wish to address the discrimination and systemic bias against women in medicine.

Joining AMWA, you gain access to leadership and volunteering opportunities, a medical student mentor, application advice and review, up to $250 off MCAT prep, free science textbooks, scholarships, and trips to medical conferences!

Our Mission

“To advance women in medicine, advocate for equity, and ensure excellence in health care.”

At AMWA UConn Chapter, our goal is to form a welcoming community for all students. We will prepare and support all members on their journey at UConn to medical school.
